I immediately had a good feeling about this newborn session by the way this loving (and exhausted) couple greeted me at the door. Stefanie donned what her husband endearingly called “mom hair” and I thought “yeah, these people are as real as any new parents can be with a 1 week old.” We listened to some TLC, shared our pregnancy and birth stories, and fell under the spell of little Kenji. Seriously, such cuteness can’t be confined to just 10 photos! I couldn’t have asked for anything more from this session. Gold all around.

I’m captivated by people and always have been; my B.S. is in anthropology. Early on, I appointed myself the family documentarian, carefully recording milestones and travels and learning along the way how much I love visual storytelling. I picked up my first professional camera when my daughter was born, knowing those early years with her were precious and full of changes. A photographer friend’s encouragement soon led me to make photography my career. Today, after many years and proud accomplishments, my passion for it only grows.
I can’t imagine doing anything else.
